PACLAND CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAYS
BY GIVING BACK TO LOCAL CHARITIES
Seattle, WA – December 3, 2005: Capping off a successful year for PACLAND
and its employees, the firm celebrated the holidays this evening with their annual
holiday celebration. The unequivocal highlight of the festivities was the culmination
of the weeklong PACLAND Holiday Charity Auction. Leading up to Saturday evening,
PACLAND staff (and their respective families) from each of the companies five
offices (Seattle, Bellevue and Olympia; Portland; Roseville, CA) were able to
bid online on a number of one-of-a-kind auction items. This evening more than
60 employees and spouses finished off the bidding with The Salvation Army, Oregon
Food Bank and Emergency Operation Centers becoming the true winners of the event.
In total, nearly
$10,000 was raised in support of these worthwhile causes.
“I think we were all blown away with how much was raised tonight,” stated
Holly Patterson, PACLAND Seattle office staff member and event lead. “With
each office selecting a charity to designate funds to, it was easy to personalize
the excitement from the event. Speaking on behalf of my peers, we’re inspired
to work for a company that makes our local communities a priority. And tonight,
we made having fun a priority too.”
PACLAND staff member Sean Mallon eloquently summed up the takeaway from tonight’s
jovial event when he proclaimed, “License plate frame featuring Washington
State University: $10.99. Michael Crowson (PACLAND vice president and U. of Washington
graduate) pulling up to all UW sporting events and Tyee functions with the frame
installed around his beloved Husky license plate, and all proceeds
going to Emergency Operation Centers: PRICELESS - GO COUGS!” This unique
item alone raised $1,000 (purchased by Mr. Mallon and fellow staff member Ryan
Leigh) for the charities and was indicative of the good natured spirit that worked
its way through those in attendance tonight. Mr. Crowson’s license plate
frame
will feature a University of Oregon message for the second half of 2006 per Mr.
Leigh’s college affiliation.
“This event was a great way to bring our team together outside of the arena
of work, visit with spouses and relate on a level that is near and dear to the
entire PACLAND staff. This group enjoys one another and those good feelings helped
fuel the fundraising for three deserving charities,” stated
Joe Geivett, PACLAND vice president. “We are all leaving here tonight knowing
that we made a difference.”
